Lime

We got Thai food the other night and I had lime with mine. Moya kept leaning in open mouthed wanting it. I finally decided okay let her try it. She shouldn't have a lot of citrus but I figured a taste wouldn't hurt her. I also figured she'd hate it.

So I gave her a lick and she sticks out her tongue and shudders and screws up her face. I figure that's an appropriate reaction and that's that. But then she leans forward for more! I give her a second taste and she has the same reaction but again leans in for more. Her expression is one of "Oh man that's terrible... gimme more!" :)

Bathtime

When Moya was born she HATED her baths. Would cry like you were hurting her. So it is funny that now it is one of her favorite parts of the day. We play, just her and me. It is our special time together. She has a good number of bath toys. Her favorites currently are some books and some cups she got for her birthday. She also loves it when I blow bubbles for her. She actually says "bubbles" perfectly!

Our typical routine is we play with the toys some. I read her the books; Baby's Bathtime, The Castle (one of Belle's old favorites), The Jungle, and "Who Lives In The Pond." I love how these books are teaching her to talk and communicate. The Baby's Bathtime book has been great in particular. She has learned what hair is. One page says "I have my hair washed" and I have been putting her hand on her head at that part and saying "wash your hair." Well the other day she did it all on her own when we came to that page! And now when she wants to go to take her bath she will say "bubbles!" and put her hand to her head to show she wants to wash her hair. So now Moya can ask for her bath. So supper cute. And if you say "hair" to her she will touch her hair.
At the end of the Baby's Bathtime book it says "I get dried in a big towel" and I always show Moya her towel when we get to that page. So when Moya is done with her bath and wants out she will grab the book, open to that page and point to the baby in the towel and then point to outside the tub to her towel. So smart this girl!
And then there is just the fun things she's learning. Like with the Jungle book she growls like a tiger when we open the flap on front with the tiger, and 'oo oo' like a monkey at the end of the book when the Monkeys swing. :)
Anyway, I really love our bath times.... fun, educational, and special.

OH and these pictures of her in the bath... I had gotten her these bath cups which she loves. The one with her surprised face she had just flicked up the cup full of water and splashed herself right in the face. Amazingly I snaped the shot at the right time.

Gaga's Birthday Cake

Any excuse to eat cake! :) Moya enjoyed Gaga's birthday. She loves to eat but the great thing about cake is that it is such fun to play with too! I think more got ON her then in her.

Kisses!

Moya has learned how to kiss. She sorta just up and started doing it! She didn't do the open mouth kisses so much like Belle did. Instead she's gone right to the smackers! She actually makes a "smack" or "smooch" sound too. Very cute. She will press her lips together in a thin pucker and lean forward and then smooch ya. It's the best feeling in the world. Especially when she tops it off with a hug and her trade mark 'pat pat pat.' :) She also blows kisses complete with the smacking sound. She's knows she's doing something cute when she does that too because she always sports her sneaky little smile she reserves for when she's charming you.

The only trouble is that she knows we want kisses so if you ask for one you may have to work for it. The best idea is to catch her in the morning or just get close to her and smile and giggle with her. If you get her in a good mood she will offer a kiss. But if she knows you really want it... she'll be a stinker and refuse.

But I don't care. They are the best whenever I can get them!

Aaah... Motherhood

Moya has been ill... cough and snot and all that lovely horribleness. Well the cough has a side effect of causing her to vomit sometimes. Last night she started coughing weird in her sleep. We go in and I pick her up and ta-da I get vomited on.... covered. It's funny how after the first bad diaper, the first phlegm filled spew, the handful of... god knows what, your kid hands you... ya just end up not being grossed out by it all any more. I held her in the bathroom while she vomited all down my back. My biggest worry at the time was "oh dear she got vomit on Belle's bath toys... gotta remember to clean those or Belle will freak out." :)

Anyway, poor baby was SOOO unhappy vomiting. Not that anyone enjoys it. But we got her cleaned up, I changed and washed most of the vomit off me, and I got her back to bed. Curled up with her on the mattress in her room and watched her like a time bomb hoping she wouldn't blow up again. She didn't thankfully.

Hopefully this nastiness will go away soon.

Valentine

Gaga helped Moya make us Valentines! SOOO sweet!

Belle's Happiest Memory

It will soon make sense why a Belle story is posted here. Last night Belle and I were reading Harry Potter The Prisoner of Askaban. We had gotten to the part where Lupin is teaching Harry how to produce a Pratronus to fight off the dementors. In order to do this he has to think of his happiest memory. On a whim I turned to Belle an asked her what her happiest memory was. I was thinking she would say Disneyland or something like that. But instead, without any hesitation she said "When Moya was born!" I think I scared her because I just instantly started tearing up. I mean I knew that was an emotional event for her and I know she loves her sister but I had no idea she felt so strongly about it!

I'm so glad Belle was there for that, I'm so glad Moya has Belle for a big sister. And I'm so grateful that it was such a happy memory for Belle. I knew that someday if Belle remembered this event that it would be a very special important memory for her. I just didn't expect her to realize it so soon. She's such a strong deep feeling person. It's just wonderful.

Puppy

Moya doesn't want to be fed anymore, she wants to feed herself. This can be very messy of course but super cute and I encourage it since it is obviously an important skill to learn.

She has a pretty cute technique. First she will use her fingers and feed herself that way. But when that becomes boring or just not getting the food in the mouth fast enough she resorts to her puppy dog routine. She will dive her face into the bowel and eat that way, sometimes even making growling noises. So dang awesome.

Yoda

This is just hilarious. One of Moya's favorite things to do is tip over her toy box and crawl into it and throw toys out. I couldn't help thinking about the scene in Empire Strikes Back where Yoda is rooting in Luke's tool box and pulls out the flashlight. Moya is about the same size as Yoda and makes some of the same noises even. :)

Now whenever we see her doing this we call it her Yoda Routine. The only problem is that after she's had a good time of it she is literally swimming in toys... well maybe that's a problem for us having to clean it up later... because she doesn't seem to mind. :)
