Weekly Update - 24 Weeks

How your baby's growing: Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long (picture and ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
How am I feeling?: Pretty good. Sleepy a lot but really doing pretty good. I feel her move all the time really, I wonder when she sleeps.

Weekly Update - 23 Weeks

How your baby's growing: Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

How am I feeling?: Butt/back is lots better. Sides still ache and when I stand up after having been sitting for awhile it feels SOO heavy. :) Otherwise I'm doing okay.

Doctor Appointment

We had a doctor appointment today at 3:20. But we were late. Never making an appointment for the afternoon on a friday... to crazy to get downtown at that time. The rush resulted in my having a slightly higher blood pressure then normal but not much. I asked the doctor about it and she said it was just the rushing to get there and it wasn't high enough to be worrisome and my second number was good and low.

Uterus was 24 centimeters which is where it should be. Moya's heart rate was 140.. also good. My vitals where good, no protein or glucose in the pee. Weight... I've gained about 15 pounds since pre-pregnancy. :\ But it's weird I still get people acting surprised when they find out I'm pregnant. Apparently if I'm wearing a black shirt and you just see me from the front you can't tell... its only if I turn sideways I show really. So I guess that's good. I don't feel like I've gained any weight other then right in the belly.

Belle came with us again to this appointment which was fun. But she was more into playing with Daddy's Iphone then anything else.

I also got my glucose drink for the next appointment and paperwork for pre-registration to the hospital! I can't believe we are there already. I also got a note from my doctor giving me permission to fly for week after next. She said she'd let me go to disneyland but no Space Mountain for me. :) That's fine, I just want to go and watch Belle go nuts. And Moya, I promise you'll get to go again when you're on the outside and can actually see all the stuff... maybe I'll go ahead and get her some mouse ears now just for fun anyway.

Next doctor appointment is October 17th at 10:50am

Weekly Update - 22 Weeks

from babycenter.com

How your baby's growing: At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

How am I feeling?: My butt pain has been a little better the last few days. But come night time the sides of my stomach are ready to be given a break. Otherwise I'm doing alright. Moya moves a lot, mostly when I'm leaning back or lying down. She moves differently then Belle did at this point. Belle would do big rolling movements, Moya punches, kicks, and boogies.

Weekly Update - 21 Weeks

from babycenter.com

How your baby's growing: Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.

How am I feeling? Well first of all if you notice the picture, we are now far enough along that they don't do the zoomed in picture next to the body. Now its just the baby in the belly! :) Guess that's some sort of milestone.

I'm feeling okay really except for my butt bone and the ligaments around the belly! Argh! I'm going today to look at some sort of belly support belt I saw. I almost got one last week but didn't want to spend the money. But at this point I'll try anything.

Oh and the sneezes. A minor thing but it is odd how much I sneeze. The other day I counted 32 sneezes. I so rarely sneeze normally but when pregnant my nose goes nuts.

But I hate to sound like I'm just complaining. Really I'm doing fine. I'm feeling her wiggle and nudge around more which is wonderful.

Belly Pictures - 20 Weeks (and a few days)

This picture is a few days late since monday was a holiday... I didn't want to get all dolled up just for a photo. :)
