First Movie

Took Moya to her very first trip to the theater today. Okay we took her once as an infant but that doesn't count. :) She saw a trailer for the movie Frozen and asked to see it and we figured why not! So we all went! She was so cute. Insisted she had to buy popcorn and ate the entire thing! Sitting in her seat holding her bag of popcorn. They had a cartoon before the movie and Moya says "This isn't Frozen!" :)

She was really excellently behaved all things considered. She asked to go potty twice which I think was just because she was a little tired of sitting for so long. But she was really pretty quiet and well behaved. She said she had fun. Glad it was a good experience.

And the movie was cute. Belle enjoyed it too. They both liked the snowman, Olaf a lot. :) I liked the Reindeer.

So now we can all go to kids' movies!

Tree Farm

Went to get our tree. This is our 11th year coming to this farm, 5th for Moya. The girls quickly agreed on a tree pretty quickly. Moya had told me the night before that she wanted a green tree that was fat. And the tree we got of course was green, it is short but very fat. :)

We also got a wreath and went on the tractor ride. The excitement of the outing was I lost one of my thumbprint necklace charms (Belle's) but amazingly I found it! It was right where we had cut down our tree. Couldn't believe I found it but SOOOOO happy I did!!

When we got home we set up the tree. Moya had fun decorating it. Although she seemed to want to put all the decorations in one spot. :)

Pumpkin Patch

It's become a tradition to go to the pumpkin patch on my birthday weekend. This year my birthday landed on a saturday! So that was cool. We had lunch at JJ's which we hadn't done in years. It was so nice to go there again and Moya LOVED it. I'm not sure if it was the food or the mood or what but it made an impression on her. She even a few days later when we happened to drive by said "We go eat dinner there again?!"

After lunch at JJ's we went to the pumpkin patch. We had fun as usual and Moya wanted to buy every pumpkin she saw. As we were heading out the girls saw a stand selling pumpkin ice cream. I bought one and let Moya try it. It was so funny she takes a lick and goes "yuck" and says she doesn't like it. Then she stands there a second and then goes "More?" :) Guess she had to think about it a second. By that time I had given it to Belle who loved it. So I bought Moya her own. The two girls stood there yummin up their ice cream like crazy. And yet still wanted the caramel corn once we got in the car. Sugar overload!

Auntie

I know I've mentioned Auntie before but thought I'd post a sweet picture of her and Moya together. She is such a big part of Momo's life and yet so few pictures of them together! Anyway, here is Moya and Auntie (aka Alysa). She really is family not just a nanny or babysitter.

Nightmare

All sorts of sad last night. Moya had a nightmare. About 11:30 she lets out this sound... I can't even describe it well. I didn't even think it was her at first it sounded like some horrible alarm. High pitched screech. Brad came running in thinking she'd broken her arm or something that's how bad it sounded. I scooped her up and was holding her. She was just screaming and crying. Once she was mostly awake she kept yelling for us to get her out of there.

Took her too the living room and watched some sesame street. I asked her what happened and she says in this small voice "I got a little scared" (a 'little'??). I asked what scared her and she just starts bawling again saying "nothing!" :(

We tried tv, stories, singing, ipad, everything! She would get distracted for a little bit then just silently cry in my arms. When I figured we should go to bed again she refused to go to her room. So I took her into our bedroom. But she was so scared to go to sleep. Started crying again wanting to get up. Finally around 2 she passed out.

This morning she said she got scared by a worm in her dream. :( She is okay today, stayed home from Aunties but is happy. Just tired. But oh man...scariest saddest thing. Never want to see her (or Belle!) like that again. My poor baby.

Isis

Isis has been having declining health for several weeks now. It became clear this past few days that it was going to be time to say goodbye. Belle has been the one really torn up about this (and me too of course), but Moya senses something is off. Today we decided it was time. I was going to go pick up Belle early from school since I knew she wanted to be there but before I let Moya say goodbye. She didn't know why or what was going on but I wanted her and Isis to be able to cuddle one last time. Moya and Isis have always been close. Isis took a liking to her right away, wanted to sleep in her crib, would climb up in her lap when I held her as a baby. She would be so patient with her grabbing and eating her ears. :) Would let Moya hug her and roll on her. Such a good kitty. We will miss her so much. She didn't get long enough with us but I think we made her years good and she passed away so peacefully in Belle's arms knowing we loved her with all our hearts. Rest in peace sweet Isis.

Snow Trip

So didn't look like we were going to get any snow this year so we decided to drive to it. It isn't really that far to snow. So we loaded up and headed out. It was about an hour or so drive. We were doing fine until we came to this one stretch of road that went over a lake and there was NO place to turn around. The problem was, Moya had been playing with my ipad and the road got twisty and suddenly she turned pale and looked like she was going to vomit. Major carsickness. The first chance we got we stopped to turn around but first let her get out and walk around for a few minutes. She got better pretty quickly but was not keen to get back in the car. She did however and we found a place to play in the snow pretty quickly. We had fun. They had a hill for kids to sled down and plenty of room to just play in the snow. Some kids had previously made a dugout in a snow bank that the girls enjoyed playing it. It was like a tiny snowcave.

We had fun and stayed for a good long while before deciding the kids were frozen enough. We changed and headed home. Next year if we end up driving to snow again we know better where to go and what to bring. But it was good fun.
